About Kinesiology

Kinesiology was developed by American chiropractor, George Goodheart. He noticed that by testing muscle response before and after he made chiropractic corrections he achieved better results for his patients. As time progressed he was able to make a connection between various muscles and acupuncture meridians. By testing these muscles the kinesiologist can get a picture of the imbalances in your meridian system and how this may be affecting you.

Imbalances can come about as a result of various causes; structural problems, nutritional deficiencies, emotional stresses and energy blocks.

Many techniques are then used (see My Box of Tricks) ) to bring the meridians back into balance.

Kinesiology is holistic, working on structure, posture, chemical, nutritional, mental and emotional aspects. It is a very gentle treatment, non-invasive, no drugs are involved

Kinesiology does not diagnose disease, but it can be preventative, by assessing potential problem areas.

We service our cars but not our bodies. If you think of your body like a car, then Kinesiology is like car maintenance. If we do this regularly it will tell us where there are potential problems and help resolve them before they become major ones.

  • Postural problems because we spend too much time sitting over a computer – can lead to over-tightening of muscles on one side, which then weaken opposing muscles. If not addressed, in the long term, this can lead to serious bad/neck pain.
  • Digestive problems – possibly as a result of food sensitivities, or poor diet, can leave us lacking in essential nutrients – a potential time bomb for a whole range of serious illnesses.
  • Stress at work, or emotional problems all leave their mark on our bodies without us being aware of the physical toll they inflict. A depressed person may well slouch, head down, putting an increasing strain on the neck muscles and the lower back.

To sum up, Kinesiology is a system of gentle muscle testing, which identifies imbalances with the body and then assesses what is required to bring the body back into balance and restore it to optimum health.

Kinesiology is a holistic, gentle, non-invasive treatment, carried out fully clothed.
